Since Shrestha was founded in March 2010, there have been over 60 volunteers from all over the world who came to Jaipur to teach and work with Shrestha’s children in various ways. (See Activities)

 

If you are interested in volunteering for Shrestha there are several options regarding your accomodation you can choose according to your liking and preference.

 

It is a great opportunity to experience the Indian lifestyle, work during the week and travel Rajasthan or other parts of India on weekends.

 

        Accommodation in Nitesh’s family

 

Nitesh lives with his wife, Chitra, his three daughters and his parents in a lovely little house in Prem Nagar (approx. 6km away from Shrestha centre and 20 minutes away from the Pink City (Jaipur’s city centre) by Rickshaw)

 

Housing conditions:

The family will gladly welcome you, as they have welcomed many before.

For you they will provide:

 

• Three daily meals,

• Transportation: airport pick-up, daily transport to Shrestha

• Wash your bed sheets weekly

• Assistance and help if you have any concerns or problems (for example, buying an Indian SIM card)

• You may be sharing a room with other volunteers

• You will share one bathroom with the other volunteers

 

       Accommodation in a guest house

 

The guest house is located in Jaipur City (approx. 20 minutes to the Pink City (Jaipur’s city centre and 20 minutes to Shrestha by Rickshaw)

What will be provided:

 

• Transportation: airport pick-up, daily transport to Shrestha

• Single or double rooms with Wi-Fi

• You will have to cook for yourself

• Usually there will be other volunteers from various organisations that also stay in the guest house
