What We Do

Daily activities at Shrestha vary from teaching to sports, art & music, health & hygiene, games, slum visits or anything volunteers can think of.

Teaching

As education is the main component of Shrestha’s vision, morning times will mostly be spent teaching the children the alphabet, English, mathematics, geography depending on their ages and their level of progress.

Games

Sometimes we give the children lessons in drawing and dance with them at the end of the day.

Sports

The sporting activities include football, cricket and different kinds of ball games, played outside of the Shrestha Centre every day.

Health and Hygiene

Every day the children’s hands and faces are washed and every few months there will be a medical camp where doctors come in to examine the children’s health and treat any wounds or injuries.

Slum visits

These visits are always interesting and intriguing as we accompany the children to their homes in the slum next to the Centre.
